The Universal Helios Grand Hotel is the signature hotel within Epic Universe, Universal Orlando Resort’s newest theme park. The 14-story luxury hotel overlooks the park and plays a central role in one of the largest hospitality developments currently underway in the United States.
With thousands of workers active across the site and an opening date tied directly to the launch of the new park, every contractor was expected to perform at the highest level. Universal and DPR Construction selected Corvant to deliver the plumbing systems required to support this landmark project.
The scale of Epic Universe created significant workforce and logistical challenges across the entire construction site. Skilled labor was in high demand throughout Central Florida, while compressed schedules left little room for delays.
Maintaining productivity across nearly 500 guest rooms while coordinating with numerous trade partners would require experienced field leadership, disciplined planning and the workforce capacity to execute without compromise or delay.
Corvant completed the entire plumbing scope using a fully self-perform workforce — providing direct control over scheduling, quality and field execution in an environment where labor demand was exceptionally high across the entire site.
To maximize productivity, the team also leveraged Corvant’s prefabrication capabilities extensively, fabricating nearly half of all plumbing systems off site before installation began. Prefabrication reduced field labor requirements, improved consistency across the 500 guest rooms and helped accelerate installation without compromising quality standards.
The Helios Grand Hotel opened alongside Universal Epic Universe on schedule — more than 85,000 labor hours performed safely by Corvant’s self-perform workforce — with extensive prefabrication keeping field labor lean and installation moving.
